Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. Das Stand Up Paddling (SUP), ist eine Wassersportart, bei der ein Sportler aufrecht auf einer Art Surfbrett steht und mit einem Stechpaddel paddelt. Auf Hawaii war Stand up Paddling der Sport der Könige. Nur Auserwählte durften sich außer Ihm stehend auf dem Board fortbewegen.
